Pastor Craig A. Patterson

Born on February 22, 1951 in Chicago, Craig was the second child of William E. and Ruth K. Patterson. When he was only one year old, the family relocated to Aurora, Colorado.

 Craig’s older brother, Brad, was the one whom Craig attempted to imitate in his growing up years. Soon, three years after Craig was born, little sister, Linda, entered the family and the “swirl” of children’s activities filled the Patterson household. While father-pilot, Bill, flew planes for United Airlines, mother, Ruth, cared for the children.

 At age seven, the family moved to Broomfield, CO. Craig graduated from Broomfield High School in 1969. He graduated from Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1974 and Concordia Theological Seminary in 1978.

 Craig served as Assistant, then Associate, Pastor in his first call to Messiah Lutheran Church in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. There he learned much about the Finnish Lutheran community.

 In his fourth year in the pastoral ministry, Craig was called to Faith Lutheran in Woodland Park, Colorado where he served just short of eleven years. Later, he served in campus ministry in Minnesota for four years, interim ministry in Colorado. In 1999, he was called to serve as sole pastor in Englewood, Colorado. He served in the Englewood parish for just short of eight years.

 Since 2006, Pastor Patterson, has served as an Intentional Interim Pastor. He began his interim training in November of 2006 and completed it in April 2007. He has completed two intentional interim calls.

 In 2008, Pastor Craig married Carol Isbell of Texas. They met in 2007 via an internet Christian dating site. Carol’s first husband died in 1997. She has three grown children and five grandchildren. Craig and Carol enjoy cinema, walking, traveling, museums, sports (mostly Craig), and the arts. Carol has studied art in college, run her own interior design company for about 18 years, been trained as an alcohol and drug rehab counselor, been trained and certified as a Montessori school teacher, and studied “Biblical Counseling” at Dallas Theological Seminary.
